SOCIAL INCLUSION
In the spring of 2005, the Agency began working with the Probation Service to provide work placements in our furniture warehouse for people subject to community punishment orders. This initiative has proved to be very successful and is still making good progress.
Since November 2005 the Agency has also assisted the Prison Service and other agencies
to help offenders prepare for life outside prison.
The Agency also operates an in-house advice and guidance service. The aim of the service is to empower the socially excluded so that they can overcome barriers that would otherwise hinder rehabilitation and personal development.
Beneficiaries of this service include the long-term unemployed, ex-offenders, those that have suffered from poor health and substance misuse and those that have suffered from
homelessness. This service is part funded by the Tudor Trust.

Over the years the Agency has also been involved with wider community initiatives including:
Delivering free of charge / low cost furniture to people in need,
Providing vulnerable adults with volunteer opportunities,
Collaborating with Plymouth
Food Bank by providing free storage space,
Assisting Elder Tree Visiting Service and the Oasis Project to collect and deliver food hampers for vulnerable pensioners as part of the Caring at Xmas appeal,
Helping to prepare and serve hot festive meals to the street homeless of Plymouth on Christmas Day, and
Assisting Plymouth Welfare Rights Forum.
